Cardinal Wars?
I have observed Cardinals for many years and have always thought they are very timid birds, especially the females. Both sexes are spectacular, especially the males, and folks I am told often interpret these vibrant red birds as a #SpiritualSign, a reminder of the loved one's enduring presence, or a way for them to say "I'm okay".
On an early spring day in April 2016, with a camera in hand, I noticed these two #femalecardinals squabbling. I thought it was very interesting, so I snapped away.
Later, I was discussing the scene with the love of my life, Deborah Kane, who explained that they were probably defending a nest or a food source.
